Frequently asked

Can I just drop in?

No. The studio's about page states: "There are no walk-ins, contracts, or class packs. All class fees are membership based." Single-class drop-ins can be bought online in advance, but the studio says they are "available but not recommended" and they carry a 1–2 month expiry.

Is there a contract?

No long-term contract. The studio publishes a short 2–3 month commitment with a membership cancellation fee if you cancel inside the first three months; that fee is waived after three continuous billing cycles, or if you cancel in the first month at least 10 business days before the second billing date.

How do I cancel or pause?

By email only, to andyogastudios@gmail.com, at least 10 business days before the next billing date. The guidelines are explicit that "verbal conversations, text messages, phone calls, carrier pigeons, smoke signals, or lucid dreams are not acceptable forms of membership cancelation." Memberships can be put on hold once a month, for a few days up to three months.

What happens if I miss a class I booked?

Cancel at least 12 hours before the start time. A late cancel is $10 and an absent no-show is $25. There are no waitlists — the studio's advice is to "sign up early and often."

What classes suit a beginner?

Per the FAQ: "our Village Vinyasa I, Aerial Basics and Flow and Restore classes are all suited for the emerging yogi... with the exception of Aerial Yoga I-II which needs a prerequisite of at least 4 Aerial Basics classes." The Aerial Yoga II listing on the booking system states six previous aerial classes.

Is it hot yoga?

No. "We have regular room temperature yoga classes."

What is aerial yoga?

Per the studio: "Aerial yoga uses a hammock or yoga swing to allow students to perform postures that they may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the yoga mat... It combines traditional yoga with moves inspired by pilates, dance, and acrobatics." Long pants or leggings are required.

Are there showers or kids' classes?

Neither. The studio says it has no showers and no children's classes at this time — "currently our studio is a yoga sanctuary for adults only."

Can I afford it if money is tight?

The studio publishes hardship discounts and sliding-scale memberships on request, a $0–$65 sliding-scale membership through The Black Men Yoga Project, and a work-exchange arrangement — a few hours of weekly cleaning duties for monthly unlimited yoga.
