Probably the best yoga studio in the world.
A membership-only boutique yoga, aerial and meditation studio at 449 Nostrand Ave in Bed-Stuy. Small classes, no walk-ins, no class packs — you book your week and the teacher actually sees you.

What they actually teach
And Yoga Studios began late in 2014 as Locale, an independent fair-trade handmade gift shop in Bed-Stuy, with a cozy yoga studio in the backroom; the yoga studio itself opened in 2015 and the shop was eventually retired. The studio describes itself as "a semi-private yoga, wellness and spiritual center that offers specialized classes in meditation, breathing and yoga" with "smaller class sizes offering more adjustments and individualized attention." It was, by its own account, one of the first full-service yoga studios and the first aerial yoga studio in Bed-Stuy. Its founder, who publishes under the name Young Yoga, writes that he is "one of only a few black men in America who owns a yoga studio" and runs The Black Men Yoga Project, offering free or sliding-scale yoga to Black men in the community.
Yoga classes
Village Vinyasa (open level and level II), Hatha Yoga I, Jivamukti Spiritual Warrior, Meditative Slow Flow and Flow & Meditate — all in a room-temperature space. The studio is explicit that it has no hot yoga.
Aerial yoga
Aerial Yoga Level 1 and Aerial Yoga II on silk hammocks. The studio describes itself as the first aerial yoga studio in Bed-Stuy. Level II requires at least six previous aerial classes; long pants or leggings are required because the hammock fabric is abrasive.
Meditation & mindfulness
Meditation and breathing are part of the core offer, not an add-on. The studio positions yoga as "a spiritual practice, not fitness or a gym workout."
Semi-private class sizes
"We have smaller class sizes offering more adjustments and individualized attention... Unlike other studios you get specialized attention here and won't get lost in a sea of yogis."
The Black Men Yoga Project
A sliding-scale Basic Membership from $0 to $65 a month — 4 mat yoga classes per cycle, no proof of income required — providing free or discounted yoga and a safe space to heal for Black men in the community.
Hardship & work exchange
The studio publicly invites hardship-discount enquiries and offers unlimited monthly yoga in exchange for a few hours of weekly studio cleaning duties.
Membership, not class packs

Promotional discounts appear on the pricing page from time to time and are not included above.
